LFM2 ??? - 12/07/05 08:06 AM

need in of help.

Current system is B&W's 603 fronts, center, and rears. All powered by Anthems AVM 20 Amp and Preamp. I have Denon SACD but currently have no sub.

I thought I was sold on the svs PD10 until I read some reviews on the LFM1. My faimly room is only, approximately, 15 x 17 with 11 foot ceilings. I thought the LFM1 would be too big so I started focusing on the lfm2 which I now believe is too small! I also understand that downfiring subs are not as good as front firing subs for music, is this true?

can anyone make a recommendation on a good sub and one that would piss off the neighbors.. I wish Outlaw made a 10 inch sub but I guess they don;t.

really look forward to your replies / suggestions.

The outlaw stuff is based off of Hsu Research subs. Their STF-3 is a lot like the LFM-1, and their STF-1 is a lot like the LFM-2. They have a 10" sub, the stf-2 that you might look into.

Thanks Ianion, I appreciate the feedback.

I did do some research on the stf2-mk at around 4$499 dollars. But what I saw for several reviewer did not impress me, esepecially from a musical standpoint.

Have you heard of the svs PD 10 sub? I read some really good reviews on this particular sub and I think my room size dictates I go to a 10 inch sub.

any thoughts on the svs? Also I read that a front firing sub is better for music than a downfiring, any truth?

thanks again!
