Since nobody has answered, let me chime in. I know they play, I just don't know what processing the Outlaw is doing.
I took this screen shot once before while playing my laptop thru the 990. As you can tell, my entire library is 192kbps or higher. Everything sounded OK.

I am interested in this answer as well, so if you find out anything more specific, please post a follow-up.

thanks for the reply garcianc, but I am talking about 24bit 192khz audio not mp3s or whatever encoded at 192kbps.

Sorry, I misunderstood. Now you know why I was waiting around for somebody else to respond.

Unless somebody around here has done it and therefore knows it'll work, I'd suggest calling or e-mailing Outlaw the question - the DAC's are 24-bit/192KHz, but I don't know if the signal path supports 24/192 data all the way to the DAC's. I do know that the USB input does not support DD or DTS bitstreams. Or, if you can suggest someplace to go to find a sample data file at that bit rate and sampling frequency, I can try to play it from my wife's old laptop through my 990's USB input.

It works from a Mac Mini. I hook it up as a media center at times, playing downloaded HD video content from it with the DVI output going to the HDTV and the toslink output going to the 990. But before I got the proper mini-toslink cable, it had the audio going to the 990 via USB, and the computer's audio out set to go via USB. Worked great. Played my entire iTunes library just fine as well.

Hope that helps answer your question.
