klipsch - 05/10/06 09:02 AM

I am thinking about purchasing some outlaw products soon. I was wondering if anyone has some experience on how klipsch sounds with outlaw. I was thinking of the 7125/990 combo. I own rf-25's,rc-25, and the new rs-52's for surrounds. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the 7500/990 paired with Klipsch (RF-7s/RC-7/RS-7/RSW-10) and I'm very happy with the performance.

There are a number of Klipsch owners around here, as a matter of fact. I seem to recall that Doug917 runs some Klipsch's, and he's not the only one. This thread offers a good overview of the different speakers used with the Model 990 while we wait for some Klipsch owners to chime in here, and a brief search through the "Your System Saloon" turned up a couple other threads that may be of interest.

I use the RB-7s, RC-7, RS-35s for surround and RF-35s for rears. Also a LFM-1 and Paradigm sub in the mix. I drive these with a 990/7500/NAD stereo amp. I could not be happier with the sound. Then again, I've had Klipsch for 20+ years so I might not know what I'm missing. Some say the Klipsch are "harsh" but I have always liked the sound. The speakers are much warmer with the present setup as compared to the old Yamaha.
It's your ears and I think your speakers would sound great with your proposed equipment.

Klipsch and Outlaw sound very good together. I have the RF-25's as well and they do a great job. I have them set to large on the 990 and they have a great response. They will get much lower than you would think when looking at them. Haven't heard the RS-52's. I tried the RS-35's back when I bought the RF-25's but they couldn't compete with the Def Tech BP2X speakers I use for surround, so I left well enough alone.

I'm running all Klipsch speakers too:

CP-1 (Pro Cornwall) Mains
Heresy HIP (Pro Heresy) Center
Heresy HIP Sides
KG-1.2 (soon due for upgrade) rears

Have been very very happy with the 990 in this system. The older Klipsch speakers can get harsh/bright with the wrong equipment driving them, something that worried me a bit, when purchasing the 990 without being able to listen to it first. The 30day no-questions-asked return policy put some of those worries to rest. Didn't take long at all to realize that the 990 was a keeper.

I'm running Klipsch RF3, RC3 and SS3 surrounds with a 7075/990 combo. I find the 7075 is more than enough power for the high sensitivity of the RF series, at least for me. They sound great with the 990.

Guys,
thanks for your responses. I was a little worried about pairing them together. Klipsch can have a tendency to be a little harsh if paired with the wrong reciever. From all the reviews I've read on outlaw it seems to be the way to go. And by the way the rs-52's are awsome, even with my 5660 yamaha reciever.
