How to shutoff the MX-700 Remote? - 04/21/06 10:39 PM

Hi Guys,

The MX-700 came today. 80% of my macros work 1st shot. I got some tweaking to do..

How the hell do you turn off the remote? As soon as I installed the batteries, the screen came up with a default DVD, VCR TV etc... I pressed "ON" 20 secs...then press OFF 20 secs what gives???

I like the operation so far........

Thanks Vince

Vince,

The LCD screen is always on, but you can change the duration of the backlight.

I don't know how long alkaline batteries will last, but you may want to invest in some NiMH rechargeables. I swap them out about once every month. It saves a lot of money in the long run, and it's very satisfying to be able to put in a fresh set without feeling any guilt about whether or not all the energy has been drained out.

Great remote - the display is always on. I get about 3 months of usage on a set of batteries.

Now go get the x10 IR receiver and some smarthome x10 lamp modules and start controlling your lights with it! smile
