Question - 03/12/06 04:11 PM

My 990/7500 is great and exactly what I expected. One question, is it feasable to splice speaker wire? My condo was pre wired and the back left and right wires come up short. To put the stack in a more visable pleasing location I need to move it right two feet. I'm not able to pull the wire as the location is in the ceiling between the first and second floor and appears tied since I can't pull it.

I can't think of any reason splicing speaker wire would present more problems than splicing line cord.

shouldn't cause any problems, I had to do it for my surrounds as well, and I don't notice a difference.

I've not done it in years, but as long as the positive and negative stay isolated (don't want any shorts) it should be fine.

You will be 100% fine . Just don't cross the negative and positive wires .
