Can someone tell me if the 990 will cross-convert component and DVI video? In other words, if I input a component signal will it be available on the DVI output and vice-versa?

From the 990 FAQ, "The DVI circuits are a pure switch" - so I'm afraid that the 990 will not convert analog video sources to digital (or vice versa).

Converting DVI to component would be costly and undesirable - a digital video source should remain digital until it reaches the digital display, and if your display isn't digital I'd recommend staying with an analog source. Converting component (or other analog sources) to digital may eventually start showing up (I think JVC has a receiver in the works that will do this), but to do so without compromising the quality of the signal would be expensive.

Thanks for the help. I have a 950 now and I have 3 sources: DVD (DVI and component out), HD DirecTV (DVI and component out) and PlayStation 2 (component out) and 2 displays which will accept either DVI or component. I would like to be able to switch sources and output to both displays. It would be nice if there were at least 2 HD capable video outputs but I guess I'll need to get a DVI or component distribution device to go downstream of my pre/pro.
