Some info about the DSP used in the 990:

Most interestingly, an article about the "Intelligent Room Calibration" feature that Cirrus developed for their CS49400/CS49500 DSP:

That article mentions two levels of calibration, one which is just for speaker setup, and the other involving room EQ. We know that Outlaw chose to not implement an automatic room EQ feature at this time. It's possible the speaker setup portion is based on this Cirrus reference design, though.

Given the fact that the cirrus eq doesn't do much below 100 where most room anomalies occur, I think Outlaw did well in deciding to not go with the off-the-shelf room eq.

Cirrus EQ would match very well with my BFD using 7 bands for the frequency under 100Hz.
