Remote problems - 12/27/14 01:07 PM

While programming my 990's remote so that the volume controls the 990's, regardless of the selected device (volume control punch through in the manual), I must have done something wrong because I now can't turn on the 990 with the remote. It will turn off, the volume control punch through works fine, as does the control of my TV, but I can't turn on the pre-amp with the remote.

Is there any way to reset the remote and enter my codes again to get it working properly? Thanks in advance for your help.

Did you push the TNR button first?

The 990 remote's power button at the top is a power OFF button. Turn on is from one of the source buttons at the bottom. Such as DVD, or Video 1 thru 5, and so forth.

Thanks for you replies.

When I want to turn on the TV, I select it first and the push power and it turns on. When I hit power again it turns off.

If I push TUNER instead, and then Power on, it won't turn on. But if I turn it on by pushing the button manually, then hit power on the remote (having previously selected the tuner), it will turn off.

It was working fine before I fumbled the remote while doing the volume punch through. Is there a way to do a "factory reset" on the remote?

Peter is right. You may have to press the TNR button, again.
This remote can control "other" devices. The two rows of buttons below the top POWER button are "other device" control buttons. They are not input source buttons.
If you inadvertently press any of these, besides the TNR button, you must then press the TNR button again. The 990 powers ON, by pressing any of the input source buttons towards the bottom of the remote. The power button at the top is only for powering off the 990.

Thank you for your help guys. By pressing say Video1, the unit turns on with that input selected.
