Internet Radio - 03/19/07 04:01 PM

Recently, I've been doing a lot of streaming Internet radio at work over my cheapo Panasonic CD/radio. I gotta tell ya', it has really opened my ears to a whole lot of new music. I'll hear something interesting, jot it down, then order it on Amazon (usually used, if I can).

It's easy to get caught up in the gear and forget that it's the music (or movies) that it's all about.

Some of my personal favorites are: icebergradio.com (they've got just about every genre and sub-genre out there) and jazzizradio.com (I usually click on Bistro Lounge). I have no affiliation to either, so these recommendations are solely from one music lover to another.

Next time you have some down time, give them a try.

I use Pandora.com.
You can create as many stations( genre) as you like. You can also mix those channels together.
Type in a group you like, it will play selected songs from that group as well as those like it.
If a song comes up you don't like, you can choose to delete it so it never comes up again. There is also the option of buying from I tunes or Amazon. You can , when hearing a group you like, pull up there albums and listen to short downloads.
