Satellite vs Cable

Satellite vs Cable - 03/17/05 11:21 AM

I was wondering if anyone could comment on the quality of HD satellite transmissions versus cable. I have had SD satellite (Dish Network) in the past and thought it was far superior to cable, but how about HD? I always planned on going back to sat but I have to say the HD channels on cable are spectacular. Since satellite doesn't carry local HD broadcasts (and with the demise of VOOM), is it worth the switch?

I got rid of my cable (Adelphia) because the PQ was not as good as the Direct TV that I had had previously. I ended up with Voom which has extraordinary PQ but........the future there is a little shaky.

Any news on your Voom service Wing? Last I heard the chairman of Cablevision was going to take it over himself, although I think Cablevision already agreed to sell it's satellite to Dish.

It is still running for now and they say they are planning on adding new programming, DVR, etc. So we will see. I do not hold out too much hope though.
