Not to sound like an idiot, but what is the RR2150? Must have missed that edition of the newsletter.

I don't know, but I want one!
The model name sounds like a "crotch rocket" bike.

I assume that we'll be seeing a newsletter this evening some time to go with this nice new forum.

Anybody else notice that the IR1000 forum is now MIA? I feel rather sorry for the ol' IR1k; wonder if the disappearance of its forum and this new one here have anything in common.

Re: What is it? - 04/28/03 12:07 AM

What could it be?

"RR" as an abreviation doesn't seem to fit with any of the current products. They certainlly seem to have enough amps, and "RR" doesn't tie to anything I can think of.

The number also eludes me as to what the significance is. It doesn't compute to something that could be an amp, receiver or processor.

This is like an NPR "Sunday Puzzle"!

But what do I know, I'm only a dog!

It seems like we have the 1050 succesor:The new 2150, 6 channels times 100 watts.

Re: What is it? - 04/28/03 12:57 AM

Euro:

I don't think so. Your explanation doesn't take into account their use of "RR" as a prefix instead of "Model XYZ", and the numbers don't compute to a 6x100 receiver.

It must be something else, but what?

RR=Road Racer - it's got to be a motorcycle. I think they took my "Outlaw Biker" remark seriously

'hound:

If RR = Road Raceer, then 2150= 2 cyl/150 HP?

Well hopefully it will be a high quality, flexible, programmable and affordable HT remote.

But what do I know, I'm not a dog

Iggy
:
I was only adding humor to the forum, however I feel the need for a new upgrade and a new reciever from the OUTLAWS with 100 watts would do it for me!!!
I think it is going to be a remote, just because of the "RR"....

My guess. Receiver upgrade

2150 = Not a 1050 Upgrade, Not a 950 Upgrade, Not an Amp, Not a Cable, What could it be?

Re: What is it? - 04/28/03 12:43 PM

You know, supposedly Peter did not plan to introduce a reel-to-reel recorder, but that would certainly fit the "RR" designation...

Re: What is it? - 04/28/03 01:50 PM

Not that I have any problems with the 950's, but maybe it's a "Real Remote". If so, I hope it has the codes in it that'll run Soundhound's blender

Re: What is it? - 04/28/03 02:52 PM

I know what it is. It's a hard drive recorder. No wait a minute; it's a universal DVD player/recorder. No that’s not it; it's a cd player/recorder. Oh dam! I give up!

Re: What is it? - 04/28/03 03:16 PM

Since the "IR1000" was the "internet radio"; how about the RR2150 being the "regular radio"? I still, however, have no idea where those numbers come in.

Or, maybe Outlaw made a deal with one of the satellite radio stations... (a "radio receiver... )

Re: What is it? - 04/28/03 03:59 PM

How about a DIGITAL radio tuner.

Re: What is it? - 04/28/03 05:15 PM

Google reveals that there is a Ducati bike designated RR 2150 so maybe Soundhound is on the right path. There also is a RR 2150 that purports to be a Rolls Royce Fusion plasma-air/reaction mass intermix turbine engine - probably not that... how about a 'Retro Receiver' complete with tubes and all?

Re: What is it? - 04/28/03 06:20 PM

Perhaps "Road Ready"... a new line of car audio!

Re: What is it? - 04/28/03 08:11 PM

yeah, it's a vintage radio on the ducati:
http://digilander.libero.it/vintage/Radio/Img-Valv/Ducati-RR2150.htm

So vintage = tubes, so it must be a tube based DVD/CD player as Outlaw has not made this yet?

20 some posts and we are no closer to knowing what it is are we? Although I bet there are a few of us..I mean you that would buy this thing sight unseen much less heard!

Actually, I think that the Outlaws have finally come to their senses and realized the appeal of their products across the species barriers. The "RR" is a long deserved tribute to us, as it stands for "RUFF, RUFF"!

Actually, ARF, ARF, says Iggy. (Hoping for a more accurate model number: AA 2150)

Re: What is it? - 04/29/03 05:30 PM

Wouldn't that be the WW2150...as in "Woof! Woof!"

RR = Rest 'n Relaxation
2150 = 21" by 50" beach towel with the Outlaw Logo on it. (The dimensions sort of work out...or maybe not...Just think of a shorter towel...)

Nah, I think they must be saving that for a Woof Woofer. But then again I'm of mixed opinion on if I would like to see them do that or not, since we doggies are known more for our HF response than LF. We don't need no stinkn' woofers; we ARE the "woof"ers!

ARF ARF (or is it RUFF RUFF) (or is it WOOF WOOF) says Iggy.

Re: What is it? - 05/01/03 01:33 PM

Room Reverberation: interactive controller?
Refresh Rate modulator? Attach it to any video display having refresh rate, effectively doubling the RF speed
Room Re-equalizer?
Reciprocal Remote? your nice to IT (don’t sling it across a room) IT behaves.
Reel Recorder? SH’s going into business sending us masters.

Love the idea of something with tubes, wouldn’t that be fun!
I hate looking at that RR 2150. I know it makes perfect sense. And when I see the announcement I’ll go…………Of course I knew that!

Re: What is it? - 05/01/03 01:53 PM

Yes....tubes! See there (Outlaw) there is a market for tubes.....

Re: What is it? - 05/02/03 12:27 AM

I'm hoping it's...
Room Response - 7 channel active digital room compensation - yippee! Where do I send my money?

Re: What is it? - 05/02/03 03:51 AM

How about the new RF Remote Control, available for purchase separately or comes as a standard remote control with the Model 2150 (Model 1050 replacement).

Re: What is it? - 05/02/03 04:35 AM

Still nothing? Man...outlaw sure knows how to keep us guessing. And there's still nothing in the contest section.

Hmmm...looks like we have a phantom component. (I just hope I get a free one for noticing the feedback thread and starting the guessing.)

How about it Scott!

Maybe it's some sort of clean power, surge protection device.
