ICBM Magnepan edition - 04/30/02 10:08 AM

Hi,

I heard the Outlaws mention this on HTF. What exactly is this compared to my regular ICBM?

The crossover points are "tweaked" to work better with Magnepans, I believe. Something they developed with Magnepan.

Thanks, gonk.

Anybody else have details? I've seen and heard Magnepans, but didn't realize they'd need special xovers.

The Magnepan edition's center channel crossover point is 2 times the designation of the front panel (ex. 8-hz center channel designation is actually 160hz). All other ICBM features and functions are the same. This allows you to increase the crossover point to a maximum of 240hz for the center channel.
Magnepans center speaker the MGCC1 is somewhat deficient in upper to mid bass and requires a higher crossover to make the center speaker sound full. Work's quite well with my system and has improved the center speaker sound 100%.
