Can you bridge channels on the 770?

Can you bridge channels on the 770? - 06/29/02 01:36 PM

I'm on the waiting list for the 950/770 combo. Initially, I plan to use 5 channels. Can I use the 2 unused channels to increase watts-per-channel to my L/R speakers? How?

Thanks

The 770 cannot be bridged. Each channel is completely separate.

If your speakers are bi-wirable, you can bi-amp them using the two extra channels.

What would happen if you just used a splitter on the input line, and connected the two sets of output terminals in series, with the polarity reversed so that everything lines up? Would you fry it, do you think? I never understood why an amp needs special "bridging" support to be bridgeable.
