Stand Recommendations? - 03/10/02 12:54 AM

Anyone have one they are currently using that will support the 770 size and weight wise. I am looking for one now. Let me know what you guys have. Post links to pictures if you have them.

To help anyone else out the techcraft Roma is a great looking stand that is big enough and tempered blass shelves. Good prices at discounts-n-deals.com

Stott,

I've got my 750 on a Lovan Soverign (sp?) amp stand. You can see it just to the right of the main rack. Seems very well supported. I wondered if it'd hold the 750 okay, but when I recently moved I looked and the wood shelf wasn't even warped at all. Seems strong enough to me.

I also found dynadirect.com has them even cheaper and if you need 2 like I do, shipping was only 2 bucks.

psklenar: I really didn't want to use a small amp stand except as a last resort. I wanted something a little cleaner like
speaker|stand|TV|stand|speaker TV is 55" each stand is 52" and the speakers are 48".
So hopefully it will look pretty good. I will take some pictures once everything is setup. It will be a few weeks though.

Stott, thanks for the research. I have been doing some myself. How is the roma working for you? Does it give the 770 enough headroom?

Well their shipping calculator was busted and I paid more than orignally stated for shipping. I didn't like the silver color of the stands so I painted them flat black to match all my other equipment. They look really good. I haven't measured but from eyeballing it from my couch it looks to be at least 2 maybe 3 inches clearance above it.

Everyone that has come by has complemented me on it. I keep meaning to take pictures. This will help remind me to do so.

I liked the looks of that one, much better than many I've viewed custom or mass on the market. Wanted to talk my guy into making me one, till I can find a new entertainment center that will hold a widescreen monitor. The cabinet makers have just not caught up yet in selection for that shape TV. If I know me it will take 2 yrs before I find 'the one'.
Thank you Mike!

Thanks Stott. Chances are that is what I will get. I agree with you, I am not a big fan of the silver either.

Just a few things on the DIY rack that you may want to consider...

The bottom shelf is double thickness to support the threaded rods.

You can't see them in the photos, but I used heavy duty casters on the rack so I can pull it out from the wall for easy access to the back.

Only the bottom shelf has washers on both sides of the shelf, the other shelves only have washers on the bottom.(I thought it looked better that way)

Oh, and paint the rods after it's put together!
