It's heavy. It sounds good. It's heavy. It looks nice. It's heavy. It's a bargain for what it does. And, it's heavy.

Very surprised as to the lack of reviews, almost no reviews of the long awaited 770 and 755. Very disappointed that no one is posting any reviews......Must not be all that it is cracked up to be

Do I sense sarcasm, or disappointment at the lack of feedback?

I'd suspect that if the 755 is an improvement on the 750 (as it appears to be) or even just an updated equal to the 750, it's a solid performer. I'm a little surprised myself at the silence, but I can't really tell that the silence is indicative of anything. It could be any number of things -- that people simply don't want to speak up until they've gotten familiar with their new gear or until others have spoken first (very likely), or that there's nothing wrong with the sound or performance to make people complain about (also likely, particularly if they've also switched to the 950 at the same time and don't know which piece is responsible for changes in sound over previous gear), or that it's horrible and nobody wants to say anything (which I consider doubtful ).

Hey -- we've got a holiday weekend coming up, right? Maybe some of the new 755 and 770 owners will be able to spend some time enjoying their new gear over the weekend (along with spending time with family and maybe getting outside a bit), and let us know what they think next week some time. Although I think that Matthew's review probably sums up what a lot of people will say.

Hi Todd, I did post my thoughts on the Model 770 in the 770 Feedback forum under the "Let us know..." thread soon after receiving it(in April). In that thread I compared it to the only other amp I had for 2 channel music. I still find it provide clean, clear sound for both music and movies. To my ears, it does not seem to add any color to the sound- very neutral. It is quiet, detailed and dynamic. The heat sinks seem to work very well as it only seems to get moderately warm after working it out. These are just my humble, uneducated opinions, but I can say, I am very satisfied with this unit and will be keeping it. It does all I expect and more in what I think is a very affordable package. Hope this helps.

Is there anyone that had an Outlaw 750 than went with a 755 upgrade. I ask because I have a 950,750 now, and I would think that the 755 with 200w per ch. would just knock out the 750 with 165w per ch. When I use my Parasound 1500a with 205w per,ch. on my mains. Its like someone threw a switch, the difference is right now, clear and clean, with more punch, its that good. That is what I would like to hear, that the 755 or the 770 is a solid performer. More punch, clearer with better detail, just all around more dynamic, than the 750. Is that what the new owners of the 755 are hearing? Aren't the differences that noticable?

Its been a couple weeks since I asked the question, has anyone bought the new 755 or 770 who upgraded from the Outlaw 750. And was this a good choice. And if you answer Yes, can you tell us why, and what you are hearing. I would have thought by now that there would be many reviews of both. I think a Parasound 2205at at 220w, per ch. and around 1650 dollars is a very good value. But before I go that route I really would like to hear from a few Outlaw owners.. who once owned the 750.

Actually, I haven't heard of anyone going from a 750 to one of the new amps (755 or 770). Unlike the 1050-to-950 jump, the 750 to 755 jump is not one many people are likely to feel the need to make (I know that I don't -- I like my 750).

I'd also love to see a comparison of old faithful (750) and one of the new guys (755/770), but I don't know when/if it'll happen.

Anybody out there who have heard a Parasound 2205 and any of the Outlaw amps? (In case nobody can answer DOBEMAN's question directly, maybe we can answer it indirectly.)

I agree with gonk; if I had a 750 I doubt I'd buy a 755. The difference between them is really incremental; We're talking an $1100 dollar amp here versus a $1300 dollar amp. I don't think many people will spend $1300 for that upgrade. Perhaps you might find someone that's upgraded to a 770. I could see someone doing that, especially if going from a 5 to 7 channel setup and space in the rack was a real issue.

Sorry Guys,
There are prob. several like me, since the Outlaw combo is such a good deal when making the leap to separates. So I have no 'comparison' data valid to your issue.

I had a Pro Logic receiver, and installed new speakers, new cable, new Satellite, 950/770 all at once.
I can tell you (not having had one in a jillion years) the setup and performance of the 770 seems flawless moving from a receiver only. Plenty of power, the boys mentioned they cranked the sub all the way up (idiots) and put in something like Matrix, (which sent the sub into protect mode). 2 Surrounds are still not hung, as we are contemplating rearranging the whole room to accommodate new Monitor/furniture etc.
This little set of speakers in the 5.1 array right now has more power than they will ever require of the 770. Runs warm (but not hot) after hours of use, in an open rack with about 6 inches clearance.
My speaker array was my first purchase, I would have gone with something larger if I had researched before that purchase. Definitive Tech. 7.1 set of basically the bookshelf range, Pro Cinema 100's with a 1-step upgrade on the Center channel, and sub. Sensitivity of (I think) 98.
Nothing here valid to your issues. Just Posting that I’m happy with the 770.

I think Matthew neglected to mention that they weigh quite a lot. The weight is from
premium components, and not from steel plates
and other such nonsense that some manufacturers put in their products to create
the impression of substance.

I was wondering about the power of the two new amps. I know that they are 200 Watts/channel, but is it more like a traditional measurement, or is it a deceivingly low value like with the 1050 having 65, but can drive very clean sound at surprisingly high levels?

I can crank it *extremely* loud. I don't have any 200 watt receivers to compare it to, but in anything but the largest rooms I don't think you'll find yourself underpowered. I mean, earbleeding loud. I usually run at around -20 volume, for loud listening, or 30 dB below max.
