950 and bi-amping?? - 05/21/03 07:52 PM

Hi I have never bi-amped speakers before. Is it possible with the 950? I know this is the worst quesiton ever but I am so brain dead right now and nothing is making sense. I just got another two channel amp that I will use some day for two rear surrounds but for now I was going to use it to bi-amp my front towers. How do I do that????

I know........horrible.

For the most basic bi-amping, you need "Y" splitter cables so that you can connect the left and right pre-amp outputs to two amp channels each. If you plan to eventually revert from bi-amping to single-amping (mono-amping? normal-amping? ... ), you probably want to leave the existing crossovers inside the speakers intact, which would rule out some of the more sophisticated forms of bi-amping. If you are curious, there are some folks around here with a good bit of knowledge about those more complex approaches.
