Routing Question - 05/14/03 07:02 PM

I could be missing it in the manual or some place that I haven’t looked here…….. but maybe someone could give a quick answer……..

Using the VCR audio outputs on the 950, will they only output from analog source? Or to put it another way, if I use the digital output on my sat receiver, the audio will not be present at the VCR analog outs? Analog in, analog out is possible…….but digital to analog out won’t fly?

Correct?

Thanks

Yeah that's right.... the audio on the vcr out is only from other analog sources.... I found this when I was recording some Seinfelds from Tivo Also, the video out on vcr is also in the source format, S-Video isn't downconverted.... when I record, I've been plugging the source composite in along with the S video....

you could run the pre-outs for the front l / r into your vcr also..... using a splitter or something...... but I wouldn't leave a splitter in the signal path all the time....

If the problem is getting a signal from the satellite receiver to the VCR through the 950, one solution would be to connect the satellite with both analog audio and digital audio cables. The 950 will use the digital input when it is selected, but the analog will still get passed along to the record out for the VCR.
