Sony RM 3000 remote code? - 05/07/03 09:13 PM

Does anyone with a 950 have a Sony RM 3000
remote and know the code for the 950?

Thanks in advance,

Austin

I don't have the RM-AV3000, but I do have an RM-AV2100 around here somewhere. There is not a built-in code for the 950, I'm afraid. You will need to learn the commands from the 950's remote to the 3000.

I hope you have an easier time than I did getting your remote to learn the 950 codes. I got my 950 last week and just got around to programming my pronto pro to handle the 950. I'm not sure if it is the 950's remote or a combination of it and the pronto pro that are giving me so many problems. After my first go-round of learning the commands only a few of them worked (4 or 5 out of about 15). It turns out that the pronto pro doesn't like it when you press the 950's button before it starts to learn the command... when doing this i get the same bogus ir code every time. I've had decent luck when telling the pronto to learn, waiting a few seconds, and then holding the 950's button until the pronto says it learned it. But even with this method I have yet to get it to learn the video1 device command. Hopefully I can get it all working correctlly before tonight's Matrix party!!!

Also, does anyone know if there are discrete ir codes for the different surround modes?

There are not discrete codes for the surround modes that I am aware of. There are, however, several Pronto ccf file libraries available for the 950. If you have a computer cable for your Pronto Pro (not sure if it's standard or not), you can skip the learning process entirely.

As for learning commands to the Sony, I used my RM-AV2100 with a 1050 (never have set it up with the 950). For what it's worth, the only troubles I had with the 2100 were related to the way it learned commands that were signal length sensitive (the "up" and "down" commands for setting up my VCR, for example) -- nothing that related to the 1050's remote.
