When the 950 ships... - 02/06/02 03:26 PM

Whoever is the first to receive "the call" from the Outlaws, post it here with details! For the rest of us who may be further down the list.

Good idea.

You're just trying to remind me of the wait so I automatically check my new e-mails real quickly to see if they are from Outlaw, aren't you? Right as I read your post, a piece of junk mail arrived and before I saw what it was I thought "is it from Outlaw?"

Thanks, Cball.

Gonk, I have a feeling that the next communication we receive from the Outlaws won't be by e-mail or WWW, but by telephone.

And, sorry for reminding you of the wait.

Just kidding you, Matthew. I suspect that you are right about "the call" being a phone call. We'll just wait and see.

Re: When the 950 ships... - 02/06/02 05:29 PM

while im waiting im moveing everything around getting a place for the 950 and 770,this is my first go at seperates.some guys on te orther forms are geting real upset.but thell get here when they get here.I got the new subs all EQ, that sucked some time.
my shelfs will never hold the amp,if I make a stand behind the left main would that be ok? I have to bring a 20 amp service over there, that will take a little more time.

I am sure that some people are chomping at the bit to get their 950's, but it's only going to arrive as soon as it can. I think you've got the best approach in taking the time to make some preparations. A stand for the amp should be just fine (it's probably preferable, considering the weight of the 770). I need to do some electrical work myself, but I've been needing to for a while. Probably do that soon (drawback of small 50-year-old house, but I'll be here for at least another year so I may as well get things a little more useable).

Maybe we could figure out who would be called first if we remember what time we got our confirmation email. Mine was at 10:02 and i'm not even in the top ten. I would have to kill you if I told you how I knew that. So lets start from there, post your email times of confirmation and maybe you'll be lucky number 1.

Re: When the 950 ships... - 02/06/02 10:21 PM

Anyone have a "feel" for how many units=production run.
Remember seeing the notice that 1st run was sold out, and 2nd nearly so, if all reserved units were purchased. ... a ways back.

(Course then we have to have the reservation headcount-run!)

Re: When the 950 ships... - 02/06/02 10:25 PM

The last newsletter said the reservations had been closer to triple their estimates...

(Oh, and I went back and looked -- my e-mail confirmation that I was on the reservation list was from 10:01 EST.)

Re: When the 950 ships... - 02/07/02 01:05 AM

I'm not too bad... I got mine at 10:17, I think. I was a little late getting home from work that day, if I remember correctly. I'm hoping that's soon enough, though, to put me in the first batch.

I wonder how long it's going to take them to fill all the reservations once they start shipping. Days? Weeks?

Re: When the 950 ships... - 02/07/02 01:33 PM

Boy am I bummed...I didn't get my reservation in until the next day (4PM). Looks like some of you guys will be way ahead of me in the que. As I remember when the 1050 shipped, that translated into about three or so days. I have now clue how many folks are ahead of me...I hope I at least fit into the first "production run".

Looking forward to hearing from the first recipients!!

Jeez I didn't get mine in until 12:01pm AK time.
What is the date for all of you 10:00 o-clockers mine was 12-15-12:01pm??

Hope I don't miss out on the first run!!!!

Re: When the 950 ships... - 02/08/02 03:18 PM

I just received an email from Scott hinting at a 2-3 week time frame. That will be my cut off point! For some reason I do trust him, so I continue to wait (unless I find an RDC-7 for 2000$!).
By the way, I reserved mine on the first night, 3 hours into the reservation list!

Re: When the 950 ships... - 02/08/02 03:44 PM

2-3 weeks, eh? That makes sense, actually. That puts it in the latter half of February, and I got the feeling from the last newsletter that the first units would ship a week or so before the end of February and the last units and the last of the reservation units a few weeks later (into March).

Afterthought -- 2-3 weeks means that I'll have the new circuit in place and a good power protection unit in place before the 950 arrives (got a bad breaker replaced yesterday, but I'm going to get a dedicated 20a circuit put in for the stereo next week, and I ordered a Panamax Max 5100). Of course, my poor co-worker may go nuts waiting for me to loan him my 1050 to test drive -- he's hoping that his wife will let him buy it after he sets it up in their living room and tries it out, but the demo has to wait until I've got my 950 in my hands.

As with all our money, it will continue to earn intrest for a few more weeks until the 950 release!

I've kept mine under my mattress. Maybe I should have put it in the bank!??

Re: When the 950 ships... - 02/09/02 08:21 PM

For those of you counting the minutes of your reservation confimations,I waited until 1/28 before I placed mine. I figured I could wait a little longer considering that my system is OK now(just that it could be better)and this allowed enough time lapse to receive my tax refund.Besides I am still shopping 2 channel amps, speaking of amps, does anyone have a decent used 2 channel they dont need?

Brian; What speakers are you driving?

Re: When the 950 ships... - 02/10/02 01:26 PM

I have Pinnacles all around,Gold Center,Gold Reference Towers for mains with a 150 sub and ac400s rears with ac550s that will do my side channel duties.I currently drive my 5.1 system with a H/K avr500 used as pre-amp with a H/K signature 2.1 100w/ch 5 channel amp.I would like to find a Signature 1.5 for my mains which is 200w/ch and use my 2.1 for the remainder of the system. So far I have not had much success online , but I e-mailed H/K to see if they might some B-stock coming in.The 1.5 is no longer in production ,so I have to find B-stock or go with used,if I can find one!My other option will be the new 2 channel Onkyo coming out for EX use,the price is only $300.00.I would really like to find a powerful 2 channel for my mains though , even if I have to buy it used.
