Release date at Onecall? - 01/22/02 12:41 AM

Hello:

I'm new to your forum but have been monitoring progress on the 950 preamp. I was just at the Onecall site and under the description for the 1050 receiver there is a paragraph that says the new preamp will be delivered in late February and will have digital audio decoding. Is this an updated message and does digital sudio decoding mean DVD audio via firewire? Could this last be the reason for the delay?

Onecalls original post:

In addition to the Model 1050 Receiver, Outlaw Audio also offers the Model 750 Power Amplifier with 5x165 watt output (8 ohms, 20 Hz- 20 kHz, all channels driven, <0.05% THD). Outlaw's next product, an audiophile preamp/processor, will be released in late February and will offer digital audio decoding, on-screen graphics, and hardware upgradablity at a price under $1,000.

This is rather odd, it goes against almost everything the Outlaws have told us. This is more along the supposed big brother to the 950. Firewire? I don't know. At the stage from the CES pix I would say no unless . . . I have to say no due to the testers who would be receiving new units that would need to be tested with the newest dvd-a players which happen to be proprietary to the Outlaws compettitors.
