Amp for THREE Channels?

Amp for THREE Channels? - 01/27/12 04:55 PM

I noticed a couple of these from manufacturers over the years, in theory it ought to serve a few groups:

Folks that may have tried 5.1 and decided that surround / rear channels are not all that...

Folks that have a another two-channel amp to drive the rest of their multi--channel setup and just want the "good stuff" for LCR...

Folks that 5 channels of amplification and want to step up to 11 (in the 2x3 + existing 5 is maybe cheaper than all new 11...)...

Maybe discuss the various scenarios?

I have a 2.1 and a 3.1 system in my nothern home and a 5.1 in Fla. 7.1 doesn't have much material except what is made from 5.1. I could see a 7.1 system eventually when more material exists. I actually have 12 channels of amplifier available and plenty of speakers.

I would like Outlaw to make a seven channel amp that had 3 channels from 7900, 2 from the 7500 and 2 from the 7125. It would be a perfect HT amp.

That would be too good for us. A composite beast to say the least. So that would be 300x3 for the front troika, 200x2 for the main surrounds, and 125x2 for the often forgotten and infamous surround backs.

Or...into 4 OHMs... 3x450, 2x300 and 2x185. What a beast it would be and you would never need another amp.

Xenonman that is over 2300w of Shoot. Cranking that up would bring in the Sheriff to bust you for worse than a cattle thief.

Like the 7900 it would take two 15 amp circuits to power it into 4 ohms. It would need at least 20 amps for 8 ohms. but it would fit every thing on the menu.
