M-Blocks for Dynaudio Audience 72 - 03/16/05 11:29 PM

As soon as the M-Blocks inventory is available, I will purchase 2 to drive stereo speakers. I have an Integra DTR-7.1 that will use as preamp.

I don't like brightness that's why I will replace the JBL's with one of the speakers below, but will audition them first with the M-Blocks:
* B&W 603 s3
* Paradigm Studio 60 v3
* Dynaudio Audience 72

Based on reviews, I am inclined for the Audience 72, but these are rated at 4-ohms. Are M-Blocks suitable for them?

Any speaker recommendations <$2,000pair?

Thanks!

The M200's would have no problem with a 4 ohm load, so I wouldn't see anything wrong with the combination of M200's and Audience 72. As for other suggestions, you've already got mine on the list (I have Paradigm Studio 60v2's).

For speakers, I'd look at Ascend Acoustics CM-340's(think I got the prefix correct). They are favorably compared to anything in the <$2000 range, and with matching bases are like $650/pair. I've got CBM-170's and prefer them to Paradigm Studio 20's at half the price....in fact, I REPLACED a pair of B&W 602's with them.

Internet direct, 30 day in home trial, excellent customer service, etc., etc.! They also do B-stock, though not advertised.

I've always been partial to Boston Acoustics. But as has been said many times before, you need to audition and hear with your own ears. Speakers are very subjective and what sounds good to me, may not be the same for you.
