I've had my 950,7100 system for about 2 weeks now, last nite I started to hear a loud hum come out of the amp. I turned it off for awhile to let it cool down, when I started it up again the hum was gone. What I'm wondering is has anyone else heard this too, will the amp make this hum when it's on for more than 6 hours?
Great equipment,am extreamly happy I decided to buy Outlaw

I had this and it turned out to be a lamp that I had plugged in on the same circuit causing the hum.

tonka, go back through the archives, there have been MANY posts on hum and noise and generally it's not the electronics itself;dimmer switch, ceiling fan, ground loop,etc..
keep us informed though if it persist or even if you get it figured out.
The hum is still there ,I talked to customer service, the problem appears to be poor quality electricity. They suggested contacting Ps Audio, or Richard Grey Power Station for a filter to clean up my power. The nice folks at PS Audio ran thru my problem with me, they think it a amp problem BUT I am sure its not. The hum is only there during peak power usage times of the day, on different circuits on can reduce the hum by 75%. Is there any product anyone has used that will work without costing a arm or a leg?

I've had pretty good success with my Panamax MAX5100. It's not cheap, but it's not as expensive as PS Audio's stuff. I paid around $220 for it a couple years ago, although I realized later that because of where I got it the warranty probably isn't valid. Official dealers sell it for around $300, I think.
Gonk did the panamax clean up a hum problem or just the usual emi/rf noise. I went to there web site, looks like quality stuff and I won't have to drive far to get it.

When I added the Panamax to my system, I don't think I was dealing with any noticeable ground loop hum from the cable, but I haven't experienced any since I had it (and I've moved to a different house since then without any problems). In fact, the only noise I've had since using it was due to power cords paralleling interconnects behind the equipment rack.
Gonk, I purchased the Panamax 5300 and have not heard any hum or other noise. I did notice a slight sharpness to the video signal. Thanks for the help with my problem.
