Outlaw Advertising - 09/10/02 12:01 AM

I just paged through my October issue of SGHT and noticed a nice ad for the Outlaw Audio line of Amps.

I am new to the Outlaw brand so it was nice to see some advertising. Unfortunately I am not an Outlaw yet, but if I continue to read these forums I am sure I will be soon.

The ad did show the new 7100 amp also. It stated it will be 7 channels at 100 watts each. I think this is known already but it also had a posted price of $899.

This puts together a real nice pakage with the 950 for less than $2000!!!!

Maybe I will be an Outlaw sooner than I thought.... 950/7100 combo looks mighty nice.

That looks really awesome.

Question, would this be the 7100 or 710? I've seen 7100 listed elsewhere (not officially), but 710 seems like it would fit into the Outlaw naming scheme a little more nicely.

7100 -- it is the amp that was announced this summer. The price had not (as far as I've seen) appeared anywhere before now. $1800 plus shipping (probably less than that, since there's likely to be some sort of package discount) sounds pretty good for a setup like that.

It certainly fills a niche in their product line. They still have a hole in the $1k range and the 1050 is starting to get long in the tooth, plus they're rumored to be working towards a higher end pre/pro.

To complete the line I'd like to see a new receiver (1150 ?) at $999 that would have maybe 100w x 7 and an updated 1050 (1070, 1055 ?) to really round out things. Of course the higher end pre/pro would extend their reach as well.

It depends on the corporate direction I suppose. If they want to move more into the high end maybe the 'new entry level' is the 950/7100? That would be a strong contender against the super receivers out there. Just let the 1050 fade away? Why not I guess.

$1800? Are you sure? I thought that was the 770 price. I like $899 that Jozwiak quoted a little better.

$1800 for both ($899 for 950, $899 for 7100).

Oh, I see. That would be a good deal even before a possible family discount.
