auto turn on (music mode) distortion and cut out - 11/24/08 12:48 AM

I have had my pair of m-200 monoblocks for several years but have just recently had the first problem with one of them. When I am listening to music at about 30 on my 1050 my right channel amp will suddenly become extremly distorted and cut in and out. When I have it switched to the on all the time mode I never have this problem. I know it is not my 1050 because I have switched the cables around. Has anyone had this problem or have any suggestions.

So it only has problems when set to automatically come on with the signal? Do you know if it behaves similarly when set to trigger on? (Not that it helps very much with troubleshooting, just curious...)

If you haven't done so already, I'd suggest letting Outlaw know about the problem.

I do not have any trigger wire at the moment to test that, but I was recently wondering that myself. I was wondering if the problem may be with the switch itself.

When I had my m-200's set to turn on with the signal the rears would switch off during movies when there was no signal for a while. I got cables to use the 12v trigger for $3 or $4 from Radio Shack.

I also had dropouts that drove me nuts for a long time. Outlaw helped me all along the way. Eventually, I decided that my interconnects were a bit "wobbly" on the M200's. I bought locking interconnects (from Outlaw). And I have not had any dropouts since (although so far it's only been a few days).

Thank you very much I am going to just buy a new set of inter connects from outlaw and a couple of trigger wires and hope that this will resolve the problem
