Got the Anthem, Fired it Up, Purple Lightning,, Quantum Pop ... - 04/20/03 11:03 PM

Ended up getting the Anthem PVA-5, used an Onkyo TSDX797THX as a preamp/processor, source - Philips SACD 1000, Outlaw ICBM - twin stereo subs, Klipsch LF10 and Velodyne CHT100, Klipsch KLF-7 refrigerator sized center, pair of wonderful Axiom made Michaura M665 towers up front, M66 side surrounds, Mission 77ds back surrounds, and a Kenwood KA9100 2 channel classic amp for channels 6+7 - took all day to cable the system, beautiful pearly Outlaw cables, put Celine Dion into the SACD player, pushed the button ...

A great purple bolt of lightning in the Anthem, a loud quantum pop, a whiff of white smoke, and silence as deep as space ...

They can't hear you scream in space...

Well I guess that answers your previous question.

Sorry about your woes. Manufacturer should obviously cover this under warranty.

Hello D'Arbignal

Yes, Synergy Audio Video in Orange CA stepped right up to the plate and have already ordered a new Anthem PVA-5. They said they never heard of one detonating like mine before. "Guess you got the 4th of July model!"

They're cool.

I managed to remove most of the Outlaw locking cables. Two beautiful pearly cables, with an ox lock on the Anthem, won't let go. Working on it.
