No rear channel function

When setting up my 950 I get a test tone to the speakers but during dvd playback, no rear channel exists. Any suggestions? I am in a 5.1 setup with standard dolby digital output from by DVD. The output from the 950 is going as follows:
front to gfa-555 to fronts with inline passive sub, no surround output and rear surround going to gfa 2535 for rear speakers and center channel.

Please help, I want to show off my "new" 950 to friends and cant until this is fixed.

If you are using the 950 in a 5.1 setup, you need to have the side surrounds connected, not the rear surrounds. Any chance you've got the wrong pre-amp outputs connected to the amp?
