guys,

I have a Denon 2900 and in the settings under audio they give you multi and 2-channel. If i choose multi, it enables me to set the speaker configuration, etc. If i choose multi, will it overide all of my settings in my 950 as far as my bass management and setup. I am using fiber optic cables for my audio on the Denon to 950. I pretty much only use my 2900 for movies and not sacd or dvd-a. Can someone clarify this please.

Thanks,

I have a 2910 (just got it smile ) and I think the receiver has the last say in speaker configuration but I just went ahead and adjusted speaker distance in the 2910 menu and left all the calibration levels at 0. When I did the SPl through the 2910 test tones everything was on par with my Sherwood pre/pro. Do leave all your speaker settings to 'Large' though on the 2900 so the receiver can do all its crossover magic.

The speaker settings on the Denon (distance, small/large, etc.) relate only to the analog output from the player - the digital output is passed from the disc without any processing, and is not affected by these settings. For digital outputs, the 950 takes care of everything.
