Stereo with sub with 950

I just purchased the 770/950 combo and am trying to get my sub to play with my two front mains. I am playing music in my DVD and using digital coax. Does anyone know why my sub will not play with my two front speakers in the stereo mode? The sub will play in surround modes but not stereo. Why? Please help... thanks.

Does you front speakers are set to large and the subwoofer is On?, what it's your crosover settings? maybe yo have your front speakers set to large and in stereo mode there will be no signal sent to the subwoofer because the lack of a .1 lfe signal.

The sub will not work with stereo mode if the mains are set to large, and the sub will not be noticeable if the mains are small but have a really low crossover point unless the material being played has low frequency material. First step, therefore, is to set the mains to "small". You may still see very little sub activity in stereo mode if the crossover point for your mains is low (say 60Hz or lower), since many CD's contain very little information below 50Hz.
