OSD with component switching

OSD with component switching - 11/13/04 11:04 AM

I am using the 950 and have component cables (PSC) running from the Sony DVP and the Motorola BMC 9012 MOXI DVR cable box. How can I get an OSD out of the 950 to the TV? Although with component switching I don't really miss it, there are times when it's needed.

Because the 950 does not put OSD on the component outputs, and because you only need OSD occasionally, I would run a standard composite video cable to the television in addition to the composite cables. Switch to the standard video input on the television just for the short while that you need to view OSD.

That's what I thought, but I was hoping there was another way.

Does the OSD go out via all of the S-video outputs? I'm just hooking up my system and do not get an onscreen menu using S-video from the 950. I think I used the S-video out just the right of the VCR connections on the 950. I need to find a composite cable to test that output.

The OSD is available via S-video and composite video monitor output. The VCR record out does not include the OSD, however, so you want to use the output closest to the pre-amp outputs.

Does anyone know why I do not get a video signal at the VCR out composite video loop when trying to record from an svideo input, say VIDEO1 (or SAT)???
