Ready to pull the triger...Any last comments? - 06/28/04 09:32 AM

It should be this week or next that I will order the 950 to go along with my parasound 855. Are there any last comments from the experts here?

Thanks

I'd say fire away.

Certainly not an expert Norman but I've had my 950/7100 combo for about 3 weeks nowand everytime I go into my theater and fire up a movie or music I just smile I replaced a Marantz AV-550 preamp (the first $1000 Dolby Digital preamp) with a Carver 5 channel amp, that sounded very good, I was ready to upgrade. I needed component switching, 5.1 inputs for DVD-Audio, DTS and prologic II for starters. The sound from the outlaw combo is fantastic, it reveals so many things I never heard before with my old set up. For example I love to use the Lobby shootout through the helicoptor crash section of the Matrix (why didn't they stop at one?)for a demo so I've watched the scene at least 50 times. The first time with the outlaw was a revealation, everything was so clear and pinpoint accurate. You can clearly make out every layer from the music to the gunshots to the tiles exploding and falling to the swooshing of Neo's jacket during his cartwheel to pick up the gun move. I was floored!! I've now had that same reaction with every movie I fire up. Order with confidence you will not regret it for a minute, I know I don't, I'm actually sorry I waited as long as I did!! Good Luck and enjoy.

NormanB:

What’s wrong with Outlaw amp?
Why not get a combo and save. I am a happy owner of 950 / 7100 as well.

I was under the impression that Norman already had the Parasound 855, but I haven't gone back through his old posts to verify that.

he says it in the first one in this thread. why would he want to replace a perfectly good amp with another perfectly good one?

Sorry NormanB. I didn’t read your first post carefully.
Anyway, I believe you’ll be happy with 950.

Well, I did it! I just spoke with Steve and he said that there is still a chance I can get my 950 tomorrow. I am so stoked!!!

Thank you all for your comments. Like I said in my first post I have a parasound 855a that I will use with my 950. I have nothing against any of the Outlaw amps I just don't need one.

I'll add a few of my observations about the 950 in a few days.

Now if I could only be able to sleep until it arrives!!!

It's Here! It's Here!

The DHL guy delivered my 950 about an hour ago. Now I have to wait for my piece of glass to arrive so I can set things up.

Why Oh why must I be so tormented????

I'm using the glass on top of my tv for additional support of the equipment. Some people use wood I prefer glass.
