6 channel audio drop out?

6 channel audio drop out? - 06/22/04 01:19 PM

Has anyone had problems with 1 or more channels dropping out while playing DVD-Audio or SACD discs? Currently I have a Pioneer 563A Universal player connected throught the 6-channel input and am losing the left front channel. I am not sure if it is the player or if it is the 950. I am hoping it is the player. I get signal to all channels when testing the channels and when playing through the digital connection for DTS and DD.

I'd start by checking connections -- the six-channel analog input (and output on the 563A) gets pretty cluttered, and it wouldn't be hard for a cable to be a little loose. Another test would be to connect another source's analog cables to the left and right channels of the six-channel input to determine if there's anything wrong with the 950. The same could be done by connecting the left and right outputs from teh 563A to stereo analog input on the 950 and trying to replicate the problem.

Thanks for the help. It was a loose interconnect coming from the DVD player. Case closed.
