Universal remote - 03/31/04 09:48 PM

I just installed the 950/7100 combo last night and all I can say is "Why did I wait so long?" This equipment makes my so-so speakers come alive(PSB Silver Stratus). I was using the H/K AVR7000, their one time flagship.

So far all is well except the remote. The H/K has the identical remote yet the Outlaw does not have a code for my H/K DVD50. I have tried "training" the remote from the original but the original has an "on" and "off" button.

I've decided that if I'm going to program a remote I want full functionality(if possible)for all my devices.

Are there any opinions out there on a "do it all" remote?

Would like to control:
Outlaw 950/7100
Replay TV 5040
Harman Kardon DVD50
JVC VHS
Technics CD

Check out the "Outlaw to Outlaw" threads there has been a lot of talk about remotes lately. I just purchased the Harmony SST-659 and I am very happy with it. You can check out my review below. Gonk recommends the MX500 very highly. You can visit Remote Central for a very complete list of remotes and reviews.

Can you program the outlaw remote to operate similarly, with it's macro functions ?
