950- upgrade or side step? - 02/22/04 08:43 PM

I'am currently running an H/K avr 310 as pre/pro with the 755 for an amp.The 310 is great for movies but not so musical,I also have a popping issue when I change channels on my directv reciever from D.D.- stereo. So my question is, is the 950 an up-grade or side step from the 310,and does anybody have the same popping issue?

I would expect the transition from Harman Kardon AVR310 (as pre/pro) to Outlaw 950 to be similar to the upgrade from Outlaw 1050 (as pre/pro) to Outlaw 950, and that was an upgrade that I've been extremely happy with. Definitely not a side step.

The popping issue was likely caused by the HK trying to recognize what format it was receiving. The 950 is much more likely to show a slightly longer mute between format changes than any popping.
