Multiple speaker switching?

Multiple speaker switching? - 03/24/07 09:43 AM

Hi all, I am sure this has been answered before but I can't find it.

I am using a 990Pre and 755 Amp from outlaw. I'm very happy with the system. Currently, I am using the system to run Polk LSi9s in my home theater. These speakers are 4 Ohm and draw 300 WATTS p/ch from the AMP. I am using BJC beldin White 12 ga speaker wire.

I have an older 8 Ohm speaker system out on my patio. I would like to use my Outlaw System to run these speakers. I know Monster Cable has a switcher box but it will only handle 150 watts p/ch. Any suggestions?

thanks! marcus

The speaker switch you mentioned would probably work just fine, but you could also go with a small stereo amp and the 990's second zone to drive those patio speakers. I've suggested the Sonic Impact T-Amp (about $30) for cases like this in the past because it gives you independent control and can inexpensively drive second zone speakers like these. UMtiger is doing this exact thing with a T-Amp.
