Component Video Cable

Component Video Cable - 01/05/05 01:49 PM

I plan to add component cables between my Denon 2200 player and a 43" Sony rear projection TV. The TV is standard definition and I'm not ready to upgrade to HDTV since I'm quite satisfied with the picture plus I'm not sure what type of HDTV is the best bang for the buck. Currently I'm using an Outlaw S-video cable, but I want to use the S-video cable between the cable box and the TV. So I'm debating whether to buy component cables or another S-video cable. I would appreciate any comments or suggestions. Thanks, Ron

If your TV offers a component input, even one limited to 480i standard definition, I'd use it for the DVD player and move the existing s-video cable to the cable box.

Gonk,

Thanks for your quick response and I'll follow your advice again. Since my S-video and interconnect cables are from Outlaw, do you recommend their component cables? The only problem I read in the saloon is that these cables are not color coded as with other companies. Ron

I haven't used Outlaw's PSC cables, but the Outlaw cables I have used (the PDO, PCA, and the PSSV that you've got) have been very good cables, so I think the PSC's are certainly a reasonable choice.

Gonk,

Thanks again. I ordered the 3 component cables from Outlaw. Ron
