R6 Coax cable terminators

Where can you use the Coax terminators? I have a Panamax 5300 with open cable or satellite connections. Should I plug them with terminators, will it do any harm or good? I have on cable connection going to the input of the VCR and where the output would normally go to the TV, it is open. Should I install a terminator there? Do you think they do any good?

The 5300's connections aren't going anywhere except to some surge protection circuitry, so terminators don't seem necessary. I have never bothered to put any sort of terminator on these, and I don't see any compelling reason to do so.
