PCA - Why in pairs?

PCA - Why in pairs? - 11/07/02 05:15 PM

I'm considering using the 1.2m PCA to use as interconnects between my receiver and new 5 channel power amp. It looks like I will need to buy three pairs and use the 6th cable as a cat toy.

Strange that I cannot buy only 5 cables.... Or am I missing something?

I think it's because of their packaging -- the PCA's come from their factory in two-packs, which works great for people hooking sources to a receiver or pre/pro (one pair for the CD player, three pairs for the DVD-Audio or SACD player, ...). It does leave you with an extra when you are hooking up a five-channel or seven-channel amp, though...

Hey gonk -

I just spent some time on your website. The cats are great and my wife would love to have your new deck!! ;-)

I plan to spend some time looking through your info on the 950. I'm seriously considering it, but have some concerns over the recent discussions involving the hiss problem.

Thanks for the info on the cables. I'll be ordering 3 pair for my new amp.

Received three pairs of Outlaw 1.2m PCA cables yesterday. They are quality built and heavy duty.

Seems like the blue (left) cables have slightly tighter grips even when the tightening sleeve is loosened all of the way. I had to apply more force to push them onto my preamp connections. The red (right) cables slid onto the preamp much more easily. The locking sleeve holds them on nice and tight.

I do have one extra cable since I hooked up a five channel amp and had to order them in pairs. If anyone is in the same situation I will sell you my extra for $20 plus shipping.

If you still have the cable, I'd like to purchase it. JSingerFam@aol.com
