ICBM->?->?->Sub Connect Query (Not Boring!) - 11/01/02 09:35 AM

Dear Gang,
I am stuck and I need your help, because I am at a complete loss.

Here is the problem. I have the Paradigm Servo15 sub with the X-30 control unit (The X-30 allows me to control sub level, cut-off and phase). I can't figure out what my LFE connection path should be:

(SACD and Receiver are 5.1, and only the LFE path is shown below)

1. SACD -> Outlaw -> Receiver -> X-30 -> Sub
2. SACD -> Outlaw -> X-30 -> Sub
3. SACD -> Outlaw -> Receiver -> Sub
4. Or something else?!?!

I would sincerely appreciate your help on what I should do...because I am so CONFUSED ARRRRRRRRGHGHGHHHGH

Thanks in advance,

Nert

I should clarify a little and say that I believe it is Option (1), but could potentially be Option (3) if the ICBM is functioning as the X-30?

I think I'd go with option 1 -- put the ICBM between teh SACD player and the receiver to provide you bass management on the 5.1 signal, then put the X-30 between the receiver and sub for control of your Servo15. That way, the X-30' settings will apply to all modes using the sub (including Dolby Digital or DTS soundtracks processed by the receiver).

Thanks for your quick response, Gonk!

I ended up using Option (1), and it works
The weird thing is now I have 2 volume controls for the sub (one from Outlaw and one from X-30).
Let me just say that I am really impressed with the ICBM! I LOVE IT!!
