ICBM vs. 950 bass Management - 09/26/01 11:10 PM

Hi Scott: Just wanted to make sure that if I purchased an ICBM for my DVD-Audio player, that this feature would not be duplicated in the 950 preamp later on in the year -- otherwise, I would just wait for the 950 to come out. Thanks.

Great Question!!
I had the exact same in mind because I was on the ICBM waitlist. I would however like a subjective comparison of the 950 with B&K Reference 30

While the Model 950 will have an extensive bass management system in the digital domain (for Dolby Digital, DTS, Pro-Logic II, etc), it will not offer ICBM capabilities for its multi-channel inputs. We are looking at the possibility of offering a single, fixed crossover point but it will NOT include ICBM flexibility for system integration.

Hi Scott,
I to am on the waiting list and own a panasonic DVD-A player which is currently running into a parasound 2500u and 5 channel amp and I am concerned about compatibility with the ICBM I love the way my system sounds now with bass management, and can only imagine what it would sound like with bass management on my DVD player do you think it will work OK?

I can't speak for Scott, but from what I've read about the ICBM, it is ideally suited to your setup. The ICBM should be a useful addition, and should work well.
