Question from Canada - 01/29/03 03:46 PM

Hi.

I've been looking at Outlaw (specifically the 755 or maybe 2-3 200's) to upgrade my home theater. However, I am a Canadian, so notwithstanding the lousy exchange rate, I have to consider duties before making a purchase. For example, the 1050 is not built in the U.S., and is therfore subject to duties. I believe the 750 fell under NAFTA as duty-exempt.

Which Outlaw products are American built (and therefore duty-free)? The disclaimer hasn't been updated since the product line expanded.

Thanks.

The 770 and 755 are both American made. The 1050 and 950 are both made overseas (Malaysia, specifically), as are the interconnects (not sure where though). I don't ever remember hearing either way about the ICBM, but an older picture of it I have lying around my hard drive appears to say "Made in Taiwan" on it. JasonA's pictures of the Model 200 include a view of the nameplate data listing it as also being made in Taiwan.

Thanks. The 755 will be the most likely purchase when the time comes.

My M200's are marked as made in Taiwan.
