I run my turntable through a pre-amp into the analog input, i have it set to Stereo+Sub and it was working as selected. The screen icon shows only L & R, when it used to show L R & Sub. Now, all of a sudden, the sub stopped working with stereo. Subs do work in all other surround modes. I have been through the set up menu many times, and set, and re-set the stereo+sub setting, but still no sub when playing in stereo. Any solutions?

Got my solution from Tech Support. I had the front speakers set to Large...this knocks out the Stereo + Sub setting. All good now!

I recently added a sub to my system and I must say this behaviour is really unfortunate. These processors really need the ability to enable the sub for all audio when front speakers are set to large, and ideally provide the ability to control the sub crossover independent of the front speakers, and adjustable slope selection of 12 or 24dB/oct.

As it is there is little control over the integration of front speaker and sub beyond level and distance, which is rather poor for in-room integration. Many people want to use their large front speaker full-range, supplemented with a subwoofer, and that option just isn't available with the 976, you’re forced to high pass the front speakers to use subwoofer.

The only option available to use the sub with the front speakers set to large is to run the sub off of the left/right outputs, and use the sub woofers internal crossover, which defeats the purpose of having sub outputs on the processor at all.

I think the 976 has the proper implementation. Why would you want to use the main full range if you have a sub? Most speakers benefits immensely when high passed, even the biggest. Even more so if they are vented. The 976 crossover may be adjusted down to 40Hz, which is pretty low. My 2 cents.
