Hello friends

I mistakenly connected my NAD CD player’s analog out to Phono In on the receiver

When setting 2016 to Analog 1 input heard an unpleasant sound - not loud but a sign of a problem

Realizing something was wrong I immediately powered down

Reconnected properly CD and PCUSB sources functioning OK

BUT

Is the level from CD analog out sufficient to damage the phono stage input?

How did I manage this brilliant maneuver? I was reaching behind rack to feel the RCAs when I ought to have been actually looking at the connection

Reminded me of my old apartment when my hi fi would click a couple of times whenever the refrigerator would turn on. Not loud but not what you’d want to hear either

I know I’d find out right away if I connect a turntable. I do no currently own one

Oh Boy …

Eric

Probably not but you wont know for sure until you connect a phono source.
