I've settled in a bit with my 975/7075 combo and am really enjoying the surround processing compared to my 1070. I enjoy the sound, but hard to say how much better than my 1070 as it's always subjective. Do like the new set up very much though.

In my old set up I would go TIVO 1080i out via HDMI to TV with 1070 doing audio. Was wondering what folks think is best with the 975? Have TIVO output whatever the broadcast format is and let 975 do all processing to output 1080p to my HD TV, or have TIVO output 1080i to the 975, and then the 975 output 1080p to my TV.

My guess is that the 975 would have the latest processing hardware/software compared to the TIVO Premiere which is a couple years old, but thought I'd ask the Outlaws for opinions. Let TIVO do some video processing or let 975 do it all so I can get to 1080p to the TV?

Thanks in advance for any comments, Jim

You will want to get 1080P to your TV. The audio processing would be easier using the 975 but there are no current lossless codecs being broadcast or streamed as far as I know. If any do come down the pike you would be all set up.

Try it both ways and see which looks better. I'm guessing you'll probably be better off letting one device do all the translation rather than splitting the processing load between the two units though.
