First question: does ARC really solve lip sync problems when using the TV ARC HDMI input after processing through the 975 HDMI out?

Second question: is the 975 included in the Logitech Harmony Remote data base. If not, when is it expected to be.

If I get the right answers to these two questions I'm in on the 975. Will be placing my order next week.

1. No idea, I'm sorry.
2. As of 12/28, the data has been sent to Logitech (per posting by Scott), but it doesn't show up yet when I try to update my Harmony One.

Thanks, good to hear the data has been sent. Shouldn't be too long before it shows up, hopefully.

As I recall in setting up the 975, lip sync delay adjustments are available for all inputs, including ARC. I think my cable/TIVO input required about 100msec to get it right. I occasionally watch TV OTA and then use the ARC feature to play TV sound through my speakers. I don't think I had to use any lip sync delay for the ARC.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Jim......nice that you have the ability to send the OTA audio signal from the tv using arc instead of an additional optic cable. I've been reading up on this a bit today.....it looks as though ARC is intended for that type of convenience as opposed to fixing the lip sync issues that in my case appear to be affected by different channels as well as sources.

One of the advantages of ARC is the fix for lip sync issues. See this link for more info:

http://hometheater.about.com/gi/o.htm?zi=1/XJ&zTi=1&sdn=hometheater&cdn=gadgets&tm=64&gps=506_10_1920_910&f=00&tt=8&bt=0&bts=0&zu=http%3A//www.hdmi.org/manufacturer/hdmi_1_4/arc.aspx

It appears HDMI 1.3 had this capability but it was not used until 1.4a came out with ARC.

I've been watching TV OTA using ARC for audio through 975. Confirmed 0 ms lip sync delay. No problems with this. Nice feature and I'm happy it's there.

(Glad it's available because I'm having problems with 975 - hum on all channels when anything plugged in to any HDMI. I next created a bunch of hand-off issues moving cables around and ended up watching a couple NFL games OTA with 975 playing audio via ARC. Then I figured out what I did, but I've still got hum. ARC audio works great though!)
