Hi all, I just bought a 7100 amp from a forum member here. It's in fantastic condition. I plan to use it to drive my 4 atmos speakers when I upgrade my pre/pro. I'm waiting on the new Outlaw pre/pro, so who knows how long that will be? My question is: should I just put the amp away somewhere, or plug it into the wall, even though it won't be used for awhile. Does it make a difference?

Thanks!!

If the amp is not powered for a very long time the capacitors in the output circuits can dry out and then they have to be replaced. I had my 7125 stored in its original packaging for almost three years with no problems. I would expect no issues if you stored it for a year but since it is a pre-owned unit you should put it in your system for a bit just to check it out. I would expect Outlaw to have the Phoenix out before a year but I have thought that before.
