Does anyone use a tactile transducer for their home theater or gaming? I have heard great things about them but haven't seen/heard one used yet. Clark Synthesis makes a few that actually have a frequency range up 800 hz.

I have used the Buttkicker LFE in my previous couch and loved it. I just bought 4 Buttkicker Mini's for my recliners, but have yet to bolt them in (need to order some steel plates yet).

They add that extra fun factor to movies. I would think an 800hz cross over would be a bit distracting though. I have crossed mine at 40hz and find this perfect for me.

The Clarks actually have a frequency response that goes from 15hz to 800hz so they overlap into the woofer range. I would probably range them from 80hz down to 15hz to see how they functioned but they work in parallel with the other subs in my system. I thought about building an elevated platform for my recliners to sit on with the transducers inside the platform under the recliners.

Go for it! That would be the ideal installation, if you are up to building the platform. Either way, rubber isolators are must, whether you place them on the platform, or on the chairs themself if you do a direct mount. I ended up buying 30 isolators for my 4 recliners.

If you do choose to cross over your transducers at a lower frequency than the subs, you can either utilize a buttkicker amp that already has the variable crossover in the unit, or buy an FMOD high-pass filter from parts express (I believe it runs at 50hz).

I've not done these, but am tempted to put them on my HT recliners. Seems this would be a good implementation for wireless.

I intend to use my OWA3 for this purpose eventually. I will try to drive them with an old Yamaha amp I have. If that doesn't work I will get a 100 watt sub amp to drive them. I will have an elevated platform for the recliners since my mains also sit on a platform with Gramma isolators under them. My biggest problem will be avoiding the transmission of LFE through the floor in the basement to the rest of the rooms.
