Yeah, I remember seeing those awhile ago too. Should sound really good. Should also put a serious dent in anyone's wallet. I forget how much they were going to go for. FYI for those who don't know, MSRP on a 13W7 driver only is about $950.

jl has in my opinion the BEST car audio,if they get into home audio it may be pricey(no not jl) but they will take no prisoners.

Yeah those are for sure 13 in. W7's . They pound the snoggies out of any car with the proper amp . Wonder what these puppies could do in an HT setup .

Guys, I don't know if you noticed or not but it says in the description . That the Fathom and Gotham also incorporate a built in room optimizer to help handle boomy bass . Kinda of interesting to see on a sub . I don't know about the accuracy of this probably not dead on but at least it's a start .

thanks for the pics painttoad .

other subs have room eq/optimization too. what interests me is the 3800watt rms amp, though it is qualified with "short time". what does that mean? makes me think peak, but it says rms. 7500 is too much either way.

That caught my eye as well. RMS is intended as a way for manufacturers to show continuous power output capacity (though some electrically minded folks have told me that it's misused), and peak power is sometimes referred to as "short term." Not sure why they would put it that way.

Reminds me of amps whose power is only rated at "[xxx] watts @ 6 ohms", to me a good way to confuse those of us with 8 ohm speakers and poor math/electrical skills.
