The new Marantz AV7701 Processor has been added on the Marantz UK website. It's reported to be coming out in North America sometime in October for $1700.

Unfortunately it's equipped with Audyssey's MultEQ XT and NOT XT32 (bummer). It supports Audyssey DSX for those who care. However, it does includes a MM phono input. Among other features are AirPlay and 4K video upconversion.

As I predicted a few months ago but for the wrong reason, I'm sure you'll be able to buy it from the Outlaws. The forthcoming AV8801 should include XT32. It's unofficially reported to be released in Q1/2013.

Thanks for posting this. I have been watching the release of the AV7701 and the spec sheet included on the UK website is newer than what I have previously found. Have you been able to find an estimated $ on the AV8801? If my assumptions are right, it will be above my $ range, and I will probably go with a AV7701 once the Outlaws have it available for purchase. My 990 is still my primary pre/pro, so I am due some newer equipment.

I heard rumors of $3K. However, considering that the AV7005 was selling for $1600 and the new AV7701 will sell for $1700, it's possible that it may sell for $2700 since the AV8003 was selling for $2600. That also makes it more competitive with the Integra DHC-80.3 that sells for $2600. Plus in these difficult economic times, $300 makes an appreciable difference to potential customers.
