I know there are some Squeezebox owners among the Outlaws and I just discovered a "new" option available for music listening with the Squeezebox. Guess it has been available for 3-4 months. It is called "MP3Tunes" and is a music server you can upload your music library to and then listen thru your SB via the Squeeze Network. The advantage to this is you can access YOUR library without having to have your computer on. You can also access your library thru any computer anywhere in the world.

It is being offered to SB owners on a 60 day free trial for the Premium service. The premium service is then 39.99/year. I signed up yesterday and it seems to work pretty good. The down side is it takes alot of time to upload to the server. I have almost 3600 songs in my library burned at 224k and started to upload to the server yesterday afternoon. After 16 hours it had uploaded 480 songs to the MP3Tunes server so at the 224 rate it seems to average about 30 songs per hour. The upside is it seems to work flawlessly with my SB3 no plugins necessary. I have used the Squeeze Network option for listening to Internet radio without a computer on but this seems cool and after I have run thru most of the trial period will probably cough up the 40 bucks/year to keep it.

Those without a SB can also use it to store your library and access anywhere via computer. It also seems to support a few other players.

Will it support FLAC-encoded CDs?
